Arvind Kejriwal Calls Urgent High-Level Meeting as Delhi Grapples with Soaring Air Pollution

As pollution levels in the national capital soar, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has convened a high-level meeting on Monday. Environment Minister Gopal Rai and relevant departments will be in attendance. Delhi’s air quality remains in the ‘severe’ category for the fifth consecutive day, according to the Central Pollution Control Board. The city is grappling with a significant health crisis related to escalating pollution levels. It consistently garners international attention as one of the most polluted cities globally, with air quality frequently reaching hazardous levels.

Medical experts emphasize that, ideally, the Air Quality Index (AQI) should be below 50 for a healthy individual. However, the current AQI exceeds 400, posing severe health risks, particularly for those with lung-related ailments and even increasing the risk of lung cancer.
