Arvind Kejriwal Meets Party Heads of Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh & Tripura

Delhi Chief Minister and leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Arvind Kejriwal held a meeting with the party leaders from Assam, Tripura, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday. The focus of the discussions was on assessing the potential and readiness of the AAP organization in these states.

Rajesh Sharma, the party in charge for the North Eastern States, expressed his satisfaction after the meeting with Arvind Kejriwal, highlighting the detailed deliberation on the party’s setup and the upcoming Lok Sabha/Vidhan Sabha elections in the northeastern states. Sharma shared the details of the meeting on X, emphasizing the participation of state presidents Yamra Taya from Arunachal Pradesh, Bhaben Choudhury from Assam, Andrew Lalremkima Pachuau from Mizoram, Asu Keyho from Nagaland, and Co-Incharge Abujam Umapada Luwang from Tripura, who provided insights into the current political scenario in their respective states.

Earlier, the Aam Aadmi Party had announced its third list of candidates for the Chhattisgarh Assembly Election. While both the AAP and Congress are part of the opposition’s Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance, their stance on a pre-poll alliance in the upcoming elections, including those in Chhattisgarh, remains unclear.

As per the latest announcement by the Election Commission, the first phase of polling for 20 seats in Chhattisgarh is scheduled for November 7, with the remaining 70 seats to be contested on November 17. Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan are also slated for elections on November 7, November 17, and November 23, respectively, while Telangana is scheduled for polling on November 30. The counting of votes for all states is set for December 3. The elections in these five states are particularly significant as they precede the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for April-May the following year. With the announcement of the poll dates, the Model Code of Conduct has now come into effect.
