Asian Games Triumph: Swapnil-Aishwary-Akhil Clinch Gold in Men’s 50m Rifle 3P, Break World Record

The Indian shooting contingent continues its impressive performance at the ongoing Asian Games in Hangzhou, securing yet another gold medal in the men’s 50m rifle men’s 3P event. The winning trio consisted of Swapnil Kusal, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, and Akhil Sheoran.

Team India demonstrated their excellence by amassing a total of 1769 points, claiming the gold medal. The silver medal was earned with a score of 1763 points, while South Korea secured the bronze with 1748 points. Remarkably, India also shattered the world record of 1761 points, previously held by the USA since last year.

In celebration of this achievement, SAI Media tweeted, “1st gold for the day India’s M 50m Rifle 3Ps team, featuring the trio – Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, @KusaleSwapnil, and Akhil Sheoran, secured the gold medal today, beginning the day on a golden note! Let’s shower our champions with applause and heartfelt congratulations for this remarkable achievement! #Cheer4India #Hallabol #JeetegaBharat #BharatAtAG22.”

This medal marked India’s 15th in shooting at the ongoing Hangzhou Asian Games, contributing to India’s overall medal tally of 27, which includes seven gold, nine silver, and 11 bronze medals.

In another display of excellence, the Indian shooting trio of Esha Singh, Palak, and Divya Subbaraju secured a silver medal in the women’s 10m air rifle pistol team final. India garnered a total of 1731 points, narrowly missing the gold, which was claimed by China with 1736 points. Chinese Taipei secured the bronze medal with 1723 points.

Furthermore, in the Men’s 10m Air Pistol Team event, India continued its winning streak as Sarabjot Singh, Shiva Narwal, and Arjun Singh Cheema clinched the gold medal. Sarabjot Singh and Arjun Singh Cheema qualified for the final, with Sarabjot Singh making a strong comeback to secure fifth place. Despite Shiva Narwal finishing 14th and failing to qualify for the individual final, the Indian team’s combined score was enough to secure the medal.

With a total of 1734 points, the Indian team secured the gold, narrowly surpassing China, who finished with 1733 points, and Vietnam, which secured the bronze with 1730 points.
