Assam CM Sarma Predicts Record Victory Margin For Parimal Suklabaidya In Silchar

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma participated in a public gathering and roadshow in Silchar town, Cachar district, as part of the nomination filing process for a BJP candidate contesting the Silchar parliamentary constituency.

On Wednesday, Parimal Suklabaidya submitted his nomination papers to the returning officer of Cachar, accompanied by Assam CM Sarma, state BJP president Bhabesh Kalita, and other prominent BJP figures.

Following the event, Sarma addressed the media, stating: “In this election, Parimal Suklabaidya will win with a record margin of votes from the Silchar seat.”

“Today, Assam Minister Parimal Suklabaidya filed his nomination papers as the BJP candidate for the Silchar Lok Sabha seat. During the nomination submission process, we, including state BJP president Bhabesh Kalita, our Saha-Prabhari Pawan Sharma, and Silchar MP Dr Rajdeep Roy, accompanied him (Parimal Suklabaidya),” Sarma said.
A large number of BJP workers and supporters also attended the meeting and roadshow.

On Wednesday, Sarma took a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, suggesting that his presence in the state for campaigning would ultimately favor the BJP. The Assam CM remarked that if Rahul Gandhi were to visit the state even once for campaigning, it would diminish the impact of their efforts. Polling for the 14 seats in Assam is scheduled to take place across three phases on April 19, April 26, and May 7.

The general election for all 543 Lok Sabha seats will occur in seven phases, commencing on April 19. Nearly 96.8 crore individuals are eligible to vote in the upcoming elections at over 12 lakh polling stations nationwide. Vote counting will occur on June 4.
