“Atmanirbhar Bharat Will Become Foundation for Viksit Bharat,” Says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the government’s vision, stating that “Atmanirbhar Bharat” (self-reliant India) will serve as the cornerstone for “Viksit Bharat” (developed India), showcasing a shift in ideology from previous administrations. He emphasized that true self-reliance can only be achieved by revitalizing smaller sectors in the country, providing assistance to small farmers, livestock rearers, artisans, and small to medium industries.

The Prime Minister endorsed the “Vocal for Local” campaign as a means to promote local businesses that lack the resources for traditional advertising. He emphasized his personal commitment to endorsing indigenous products, serving as a spokesperson for small-scale farmers and industries, including those involved in Khadi production, toy manufacturing, Make in India initiatives, and promoting domestic tourism.

Discussing the impact of this approach, PM Modi cited the example of Kashi (Varanasi), where tourism has flourished, with over 12 crore tourists visiting since the rejuvenation of Vishwanath Dham. This surge in tourism has led to increased income and employment opportunities in the region.

PM Modi also addressed various challenges faced by the country in the past, such as dynasty politics, corruption, and appeasement, highlighting the need for change. He emphasized the need for development and progress over divisive politics, particularly noting the transformation of Kashi and Ayodhya.

Looking ahead, PM Modi expressed confidence in India’s capabilities, predicting that India would become the 3rd largest economy in the world within the next 5 years. He pledged to accelerate developmental projects such as Digital India, infrastructure improvements, and the development of Eastern India as a growth engine for the country.

The Prime Minister also discussed the infrastructure development in Kashi, including the inauguration of the first phase of the six-lane highway from Varanasi to Aurangabad and the upcoming Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata Expressway, which will significantly reduce travel time between Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal.

In conclusion, PM Modi envisioned a bright future for Kashi, with plans for the city to become a hub for employment, skills development, and education. He emphasized the need for unity among the residents of Kashi to continue the rapid development of the region.
