Microsoft co-founder and famous philanthropist Bill Gates praised the Statue of Unity in Gujarat, calling it a “beautiful work of art” and an important tribute to Sardar Patel. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for extending the invitation to visit the monument and acknowledged the commercial benefit of the monument to the people of the community.
Gates said that he was interested in the social media platform and viewed Gates positively. In Gates’ post, Modi highlighted the excitement of Gates’ great knowledge and emphasized that people from all over the world are encouraged to visit the world’s tallest tower in Gujarat. “Glad to see it! I’m glad you had a good time at the Statue of Unity. I also encourage people from all over the world to visit it in the future.” PM Modi told X.

Earlier, Gates met with Indian Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to discuss the use of India’s intelligence ecosystem to support the country’s technology, healthcare, agriculture, and education. Gates praised India’s digital economy journey as a model for emerging economies and expressed hope that the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will support the Indian government’s efforts including digital marketing.
During his visit to India, Gates attended many meetings with senior leaders and participated in cultural and local events. He was also in the presence of Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani’s younger son Anant Ambani and industrialist Viren Merchant’s daughter Radhika Merchant in Jamnagar, Gujarat, for the pre-wedding ceremony.
In his meeting with Prime Minister Modi, Gates discussed how to use the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) for the benefit of people. The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to an economy that has the power to improve the world and benefit millions of people around the world.
