BJP Chief Nadda Visits Himachal Pradesh; Takes Stock Of Situation

BJP President JP Nadda visits Himachal Pradesh on Sunday to assess the extensive damage caused by heavy rainfall and floods in the region. As stated by an official announcement, during his visit to the flood-ravaged state, Nadda intends to meet with the families affected by the unfortunate loss of lives caused by the calamity.

Unceasing rain has triggered landslides, cloudbursts and rapid floods, resulting in substantial destruction throughout the state. The Himachal Pradesh government has formally designated the entire state as an area affected by natural calamity. According to the most recent data shared by the state administration, the cumulative financial loss in Himachal Pradesh has reached Rs 8014.61 crore since June 24.

This monsoon season has witnessed the destruction of 2,022 houses, with an additional 9,615 houses suffering partial damage. A total of 113 landslides have been reported during this year’s monsoon season. Nadda’s itinerary includes arrival in Paonta Sahib within the Sirmaur district on Sunday morning. Subsequently, he will proceed to visit Sirmauri Tal and Kachhi Dhang villages, where he plans to evaluate the situation following the recent occurrences of cloudbursts, floods, and landslides.

BJP President Nadda will also explore the Summer Hill area of Shimla, where an unfortunate incident led to the washing away of a temple. During this visit, he will engage in discussions with the local administrative bodies in Shimla and Bilaspur, focusing on the ongoing efforts in relief, rescue, and rehabilitation. The recent incident in Summer Hill has resulted in the recovery of sixteen bodies so far, with ongoing operations aimed at locating the remaining four missing bodies.

Furthermore, the BJP leader will conduct an assessment of the impaired houses and the losses faced by the rain-ravaged locality of Krishnanagar in Shimla. Following this, he plans to have consultations with the local administration about the strategies for relief and rescue operations in Shimla. Concluding his tour, the BJP National President is slated to reach Circuit House in Bilaspur, where he intends to meet with the grieving families who have suffered both the loss of life and property due to the relentless heavy rainfall, floods, and landslides.
