The Haryana assembly election is scheduled for later this year. The BJP has been in power in the state since 2014 but will face strong competition from the Congress, which won half of the Lok Sabha seats in Haryana during the last general election.

Recently, Nayab Singh Saini has introduced several measures in preparation for the election.

Earlier this week, the state government decided to provide reservations for Backward Classes of Citizens Block B (Schedule-II) in Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and Municipalities, based on recommendations from the Haryana Backward Classes Commission.

The state cabinet also approved significant amendments to the ‘Mukhya Mantri Shehri Awas Yojana’ (MMSAY), aimed at addressing the housing needs of urban families with an annual income up to Rs 1.80 lakh, as verified by the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP).

Additionally, in an effort to gain farmer support, the Haryana Government has decided to procure 10 crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP). These crops include Ragi, Soybean, Kalatil (Nigerseed), Safflower, Barley, Maize, Jowar, Jute, Khopra, and Moong (Summer).

Meanwhile, the Haryana BJP has launched a “Jan Samvad” campaign for the assembly polls.

Earlier, Union Minister and BJP leader Kishan Pal Gujjar stated on Monday that senior state leaders will be assigned to three constituencies each, with the program running until the end of the month.

The leaders and in charge of Haryana have been tasked with engaging in public dialogue and providing information about government schemes benefiting the public.
