Bharatiya Janata Party leaders in Bengaluru organized a protest against the Congress-led government in response to the arrest of a man in Hubballi linked to the riots following the Babri Masjid demolition in 1992. State presidents BY Vijayendra Bhaskar Rao, Sadananda Gowda, and CN Ashwath Narayan participated in the protest.
CN Ashwath Narayan criticized the Congress government’s handling of the situation, emphasizing the need to avoid appeasement politics and financial misuse. He stated that focusing solely on vote bank politics is not appreciated by the public and condemned the Congress government’s approach.
Senior BJP leader DV Sadananda Gowda alleged that the case was politically motivated, especially considering the upcoming consecration date of Ayodhya’s Ram Temple. He questioned the closure of cases and criticized Siddaramaiah’s appeasement politics, asserting that legal issues would be addressed by the BJP through legal means.
Responding to the opposition’s accusations of appeasement politics, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah dismissed the claims, stating that the police were instructed to handle old cases, and no innocent individuals were arrested. He emphasized a commitment to following the court’s directives in dealing with wrongdoers.
