In a fierce attack on PM Modi, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi alleged that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has ‘looted’ Rs 1.5 lakh crore from Karnataka in the last three and a half years. She added that she wonders how an “omnipresent and omniscient” leader could not see the “loot” happening in Karnataka.
The Congress leader said that the BJP had stolen Rs 1.5 lakh crore from Karnataka during the last three and a half years while her address at Indi, Vijayapura in the poll-bound Karnataka. “You could have built 100 AIIMS hospitals, 30,000 smart classrooms, and homes for 30 lakh poor people with the amount of money they looted,” she said. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had also pointed fingers at BJP earlier on Tuesday, accusing the saffron party of stealing democracy and urging voters to support the veteran party that is Congress.
“There are various types of thieves in the country today; some steal from houses…now, some thieves “who steal the governments” have also come; they are stealing the democracy…stop them,” said Priyanka.
Before the Karnataka Assembly Elections, Priyanka Gandhi held a roadshow in Jamakhandi Kudachi, Belagavi, to raise awareness for the Congress party. Congress published its electoral platform for the Karnataka Assembly elections on May 2. The Karnataka assembly elections will occur on May 10 in a single phase, with the vote tallying set for May 13.
