BJP MP Dilip Ghosh attacked the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government in West Bengal, accusing them of turning a blind eye to “communal harassment”, sex and “land grabbing” in the region, targeting Sandesh Kali in North 24 Parganas district. Ghosh alleged that there were “thugs and rapists” in the state, which was occupied by the ruling party.
Ghosh specifically mentioned the case of Shah Jahan Sheikh, who was arrested for “sexual harassment”. He criticized the TMC for the allegations against Sheikh, whom he described as a “guilty” and a “victim” before he was finally acquitted two months later.
“There are hoodlums and rapists protected under the TMC flag in every corner of the country. TMC protected a criminal, a rapist, for two months… ”
Ghosh also deserved praise for Sheikh. He was arrested and suffered through protests and social media. He talked about the consequences of removing the Sheikh for these actions.
Regarding TMC’s rampant graft and corruption in Bengal, Ghosh said, “TMC destroyed Bengal. They stole all kinds of things for women. Morality…”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Ghosh for his handling of the situation in Kashmir following the abrogation of Article 370. He expressed confidence that if Modi can solve the Kashmir issue, he can also solve the Bengal issue soon.
Tensions are rising between the BJP and TMC, especially over the situation in Sandeshkari in North 24 Parganas district. Recent protests and violence in the region have increased tensions between the two sides.
