‘BJP trying to destabilise our govt, but will not succeed’: Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah strongly rebuked the BJP, asserting that their alleged plan to destabilize the Congress government would not succeed. He addressed reporters on Sunday, emphasizing that not a single Congress MLA from their ranks would defect to the BJP.

Siddaramaiah acknowledged the BJP’s attempts to undermine the government but expressed confidence in the stability of their party. He pointed out that while similar strategies worked in the past, they would not be effective this time. The ongoing exchange of accusations between the Congress and BJP in Karnataka revolves around alleged ‘poaching’ efforts, referred to as ‘Operation Kamala.’

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, in response to the situation, warned party MLAs against making public statements, issuing notices to those who defy this directive.

BJP leader, Aswath Narayan, commented on the poaching controversy, suggesting that the Congress was facing internal challenges with various members vying for the post of Chief Minister. In response, Shivakumar affirmed that there were indeed attempts to lure Congress members away but remained steadfast in his belief that such tactics would not succeed. He also stressed the need for party leaders to avoid making public statements on internal party affairs to maintain party cohesion.
