Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi Criticizes BJP’s “Surrendered Alliance”

Mumbai [India], January 10: In a recent statement, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi continued to express her reservations about the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), labeling their alliance as one of necessity and a ‘surrendered alliance.’ Chaturvedi emphasized the perceived constraints within the alliance, suggesting that other parties feel limited in expressing opinions or making decisions in the presence of PM Modi and Amit Shah.

“The BJP’s alliance is formed out of necessity because they rely on various forms of support to secure victories. Unfortunately, this has led to sidelining the principles of our country, democracy, and the constitution. Other parties are aware that their voices might not be heard or considered in the presence of PM Modi and Amit Shah, creating what I term a ‘surrendered alliance”

Contrasting the BJP’s alliance, Chaturvedi commended the INDIA bloc, an alliance of 26 parties, for its democratic nature and the willingness to engage in discussions despite differences of opinion.

“The INDIA alliance comprises 26 parties with varying perspectives, and diversity is the essence of democracy. Differences of opinion are integral to healthy discussions. I am optimistic that decisions will be reached promptly, and together we will steadfastly fight for the Constitution and the people, emerging victorious in this endeavor,” Chaturvedi stated.

As India approaches the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the political landscape is witnessing significant shifts. The INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) consortium is gearing up to challenge the established National Democratic Alliance. However, the bloc faces challenges in finalizing seat-sharing arrangements and determining a prime ministerial candidate. Meanwhile, the BJP has already begun implementing strategies outlined in 2023 to secure success in the upcoming general elections.
