A person is missing after a boat carrying nine pilgrims overturned on Friday in the Sarayu River in Ayodhya, according to an official. Local divers and SDRF personnel managed to rescue eight people, but a 29-year-old woman named Kashish is still missing.
“The boat collided with another vessel, causing it to capsize. Everyone on board was wearing life jackets, including the missing woman. Rescue teams are actively searching for her,” said Ayodhya Senior Superintendent of Police, Raj Karan Nayyar.
The incident reportedly occurred when the boat was attempting to make a turn on the river.
