Gonda Train Accident: Train Services Disrupted As Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express Derails in Gonda; 2 Dead, 20 Injured

In a tragic incident today in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda district, a train accident has claimed the lives of two individuals and left 20 others injured. The accident occurred on the Chandigarh – Dibrugarh Express, train number 15904, when several coaches derailed near Pikaura, between Gonda and Jhilahee. According to the Railway Ministry, there have been 2 fatalities and 20 injuries.

The derailment occurred close to Jhilahee railway station, prompting an immediate response from rescue teams based in Gonda. Emergency services swiftly mobilized to the scene to provide assistance to those affected and administer necessary medical aid.

An NDRF team has reached the site where the Dibrugarh Express train accident occurred in Gonda district. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been briefed about the incident and has directed officials to expedite rescue efforts immediately.

CM Yogi Adityanath has also instructed for proper medical treatment of the injured and directed district administration officials to provide all possible assistance. By the CM’s directives, hospitals in nearby districts have been put on high alert mode, including CHCs and PHCs.

Instructions have also been issued to the SDRF team to expedite rescue operations upon reaching the scene. In the aftermath of the tragic train accident near Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, reports confirm the loss of two lives and injuries to approximately 8 individuals.

Authorities have swiftly responded with a 40-member medical team and deployed 15 ambulances to the site. Additional medical personnel and ambulances are en route to provide further assistance.

The situation remains under close monitoring as rescue efforts continue to ensure prompt medical care and support to those affected by the incident.

The exact cause of the derailment is yet to be determined, as authorities focus on ensuring the safety of passengers and securing the affected area. Passengers and local residents are urged to cooperate with rescue efforts and avoid the vicinity of the accident site to facilitate rescue operations.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath takes cognizance of the train accident in the Gonda district. He directs the officials to reach the spot immediately and expedite the relief work; gives instructions for proper treatment of the injured.

Train Services Disrupted: Route Changes and Cancellations Due to Operational Adjustments

Several train services across different routes have been disrupted, impacting travel schedules for passengers. Here are the details:

1. Route Changes:

• Saharsa New Delhi Vaishali Express (13019) is diverted via Haldia-Katgodam Bagh Express (15273).
• Raxaul Anand Vihar Satyagrah Express (12565) has been rerouted.
• Darbhanga New Delhi Bihar Sampark Kranti Express (12555) and Gorakhpur Bhatinda Gorakhdham Express (15707) are also affected, running through alternative routes.
• 14673 Jaynagar Amritsar Shaheed Express is operating via a modified route.

2. Cancellations:

• Gonda Gorakhpur Passenger trains (5094 and 5031) have been cancelled.

     3. Impact on Travel:

Several other trains have had their routes altered, causing inconvenience to passengers who rely on these services for their daily commutes and travel plans.

The adjustments in train operations are due to logistical considerations and aim to ensure smooth transportation amidst current circumstances. Railway Arranges Special Train and Buses After Dibrugarh Express Accident

In response to the derailment of the Dibrugarh Express near Mankapur, Uttar Pradesh, the railway authorities have taken swift action to assist affected passengers and provide alternative transport options.

• Special Train Arrangement: The railway has organized a special train to facilitate the travel of Dibrugarh Express passengers. This special train will depart from Mankapur station and travel to Dibrugarh, ensuring continuity in travel arrangements despite the disruption caused by the accident.
• Buses for Passenger Transport: Additionally, buses have been deployed by the railway to transport passengers from the accident site to Mankapur station. This measure aims to streamline passenger movement and ensure their safety and convenience during this challenging time.

 

 

Union Minister Kirti Vardhan Singh addressed the derailment of the Dibrugarh-Chandigarh Express in Gonda, stating, “I have held meetings with all officials. All injured passengers have been transported to Mankapur CHC and Gonda. Arrangements are being made to transport remaining passengers to the main road, with the administration also coordinating arrangements. A bus has been arranged to facilitate their journey to Mankapur railway station. A special relief train from Gorakhpur will soon arrive to transport passengers to their respective destinations.”
