Pointing the achievements of Gujarat BSF, a statement issued by force, mentioned: “BSF Gujarat is further strengthening its hold along Sir Creek and Harami Nalla area by establishing permanent bases”. The BSF, which guards the 7,419 km India-Pakistan border, also informed that 50 packets of Heroin worth Rs 250 crore and 61 packets of Charas worth Rs 2.49 crore were also recovered from the coastal and creek region of Gujarat.

The statement further complimented BSF Gujarat with protecting the 826-kilometer-long India-Pakistan international boundary from Barmer in Rajasthan to the Rann of Kutch and Creek region, including 85 kilometres of Gujarat’s coastal area, by effective dominance of its entire area of duty.

In addition, 22 Indians, four Pakistanis, two Bangladeshis, two Canadians, and one Rohingya were detained for their involvement in different illicit transborder operations, according to the statement.

It went on to say that the BSF Gujarat successfully organised activities such as the Seema Bhawani Women Empowerment Ride from Delhi to Kanyakumari and the Cycle Rally from Octroi (Jammu) to Bhuj as part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The BSF Gujarat, with the cooperation of the Gujarat government, successfully held the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Parade in Kevadia on October 31, 2022, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the chief guest.

According to the statement, the BSF Gujarat organised several Civic Action Programmes, gave needed products and shops, and held free medical camps and awareness programmes of government initiatives for the benefit of the border populace as a method of public interaction.

In addition, the BSF organised skill development programmes and prepared border youngsters for enlistment into Central Armed Police Forces and other Forces.

BSF Gujarat was also awarded the coveted Ashwini Trophy for the year 2021-22, three times in a row, among 11 Frontiers of BSF for best performance in Training and Sports activities, the statement said.

More than 350 Mahila Praharies of BSF Gujarat are effectively safeguarding the country’s borders despite the vagaries of nature, it added.
