BSF neutralises Pakistani armed intruder approaching border fence in Punjab

The BSF killed an armed Pakistani invader who was approaching the border security barrier in Punjab's Gurdaspur area from across the border on Tuesday morning.

The Border Security Force (BSF) killed an armed Pakistani invader who was approaching the border security barrier in Punjab’s Gurdaspur area from across the border on Tuesday morning.

BSF forces from the Gurdaspur Sector’s Border Outpost Channa detected the suspected intruder’s activity about 8.30 a.m. and neutralised him as he continued to go towards the fence despite being confronted.

“Today at about 0830 hrs, BSF troops of BOP Channa of Gurdaspur Sector observed suspected movement of an armed Pak intruder ahead of B S Fence who was approaching B S Fence from Pak side. The suspected intruder was challenged and neutralised by BSF troops,” said the BSF in a statement.

On Tuesday morning, observant Border Security Force forces detected suspicious movement of a Pakistani armed miscreant ahead the Border fence, in the region adjoining Village – Dariya Mansoor.

Troops confronted the criminal, but he did not stop and proceeded on his way. Sensing an impending threat and wishing to prevent further misadventure, BSF troopers opened fire in self-defense, killing the criminal on the spot, according to a BSF statement.

During the search, a gun was discovered near the body of the Pakistani miscreant. A thorough search of the region is underway.

The BSF, which patrols the 7,419-kilometer India-Pakistan border, caught 22 Pakistani fishermen and seized 79 fishing boats in Gujarat’s Creeks and Harami Nalla, the most hostile, swampy, and tough terrain in 2022.

The Pakistani intruder was neutralised a day after the BSF recovered another Pakistani drone with a consignment of approximately 1 kg of Heroin near the International Border (IB) in Punjab’s Gurdaspur sector.

In 2022, the BSF successfully detected and captured 22 drones and seized 316.988 kgs of Heroin, 67 weapons, and 850 rounds of live cartridges, killed two Pakistan intruders and apprehended 23 Pakistan Nationals in different incidents in Punjab Frontier.
