The Border Security Force (BSF) found drugs thought to be heroin along the India-Pakistan border in the Punjab region of Tarn Taran.
On the intervening nights of Monday and Tuesday, BSF border patrol forces heard the sound of something being thrown over the boundary fence towards the Indian side of the fence in the region of Wan village in Tarn Taran district.
BSF personnel detected the presence of smugglers ahead of the border barrier and shot at them, however the smugglers were able to flee due to the severe fog.
Moreover, during the first search of the area, troops discovered five bottles (wrapped in socks) containing drugs thought to be heroin (gross weight – 2.5 Kg), according to the Punjab Frontier, BSF.
