Allocation for defence in the interim budget has been increased to Rs 6.21 lakh crores for the financial year 2024-25 from Rs 5.94 lakh crores allocated for the last year. The increase is over 4.5 per cent from last year. Defence forces get Rs 10,000 crores more for modernisation under the capital budget.
