Chandrababu Naidu’s Remand Extended in Skill Development Scam Case Till Oct 19

The Vijayawada ACB court has extended the judicial remand of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Chief N Chandrababu Naidu until October 19 in connection with the multi-crore skill development scam case.

The ACB Court Judge has adjourned the inquiry into Chandrababu’s custody and bail petitions until the following day, expressing the intent to hear arguments from both sides. Pramod Kumar Dubey, Chandrababu Naidu’s advocate, confirmed the extension of judicial remand.

Chandrababu Naidu, the former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP leader, was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on September 9, sparking political turmoil in the state. Many TDP leaders asserted that his arrest was politically motivated and based on false allegations.

TDP workers have organized various protests, from candle marches to rallies, demanding Chandrababu Naidu’s release. His wife, Bhuvaneshwari, held special prayers at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Rajahmundry, and people inside the church displayed banners condemning his arrest.

Additionally, TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh and party supporters conducted a hunger strike in Delhi, holding ‘I am with CBN’ posters, demanding Naidu’s release. A parallel hunger strike was also staged by Naidu’s wife, Nara Bhuvaneshwari, in Rajamahendravaram.

The Supreme Court, on Tuesday, did not grant interim relief to Chandrababu Naidu in the skill development scam case. The court scheduled a hearing on Naidu’s plea for the following Monday.
