New Year, Same Mistake! Thousands gather in China to celebrate New Year

Thousands of people gathered in Wuhan to celebrate the New Year on Saturday night amid China’s Covid wave after the authorities relaxed their strict “zero-Covid” policy.

In Wuhan, where the Covid narrative first began, Civilians followed custom and released balloons into the sky at the stroke of twelve during this new year’s celebration. A 17-year-old Wuhan high school student with the last name Wang stated “I believe that COVID-19 was really serious in the previous year and some of my family members have been hospitalised. In the next year, I wish them health. The most crucial factor is this.”

Meanwhile, a woman expressed her fear of contracting COVID-19 once more.

What does the statistics say of China’s COVID situation?

According to Australian magazine, statistics mention the number of deaths in China due to COVID has risen to 9,000 every day.

Moreover, the media story claims that “As the number of infections rises, British research company Airfinity has increased by a factor of two the number of individuals it believes are dying in China from COVID. It happens after Beijing repealed harsh, long-standing zero-COVID health restrictions in November.”

Ten individuals perished in an apartment fire, prompting draconian lockdowns that led to protests across China. There have been claims that the quarantine orders prevented firemen from entering the apartment building.

Due to huge demonstrations in nine cities across China, the nation changed its stance on COVID.

With at least 18.6 million cases, the overall number of deaths in China related to COVID in December may reach 100,000. Up to 3.7 million COVID instances per day may exist by mid-January.

A total of 584,000 fatalities are anticipated in China by January 23.
