CM Stalin to Introduce Major Women’s Income Initiative in Tamil Nadu Today

MK Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, will introduce the “Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Thittam” program for women on Friday. One of the main election campaign pledges made by the ruling DMK will be fulfilled with the commencement of the program.

Officials from the party stated that the program would also represent a complete fulfillment of the promises made to the populace by the party.
A monthly cash support of Rs 1,000 would be given to women from low-income households under the welfare program.

From Kancheepuram, the hometown of the party’s founding father and previous chief minister CN Annadurai, CM Stalin, who also serves as the DMK president, will announce the program.
This assistance program’s introduction was scheduled to fall with the late Dravidian icon’s birthday.

The program will be introduced in Chennai by Udhayanidhi Stalin, the state minister for sports and youth affairs, who recently sparked controversy with comments he made about “Sanatan Dharma.”
Similar to this, different launch ceremonies in the state will be led by ministers Sekar Babu and Ma Subramanian, among others.

According to a statement from the state administration, this direct cash transfer program can help up to 1,605 crore women.

The government will also offer qualified women who feel left out time to sign up for the program. Through the e-Seva portal, they can submit a request to enlist. Their requests would be handled within 30 days, according to a government announcement.

The targeted beneficiaries’ bank accounts will get the promised amount directly.
