A dense layer of fog blanketed the nation’s capital, reducing visibility on Sunday morning.

The national capital and neighbouring states are still experiencing extreme cold and fog.

The India Meteorological Department on Saturday forecasted that a cold wave and frigid days will persist over northwest India for the next two days.

IMD forecasted severe to extremely dense fog conditions across various regions of Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh for the next 48 hours, followed by a reduction and distribution.

According to the meteorological service, minimum temperatures are expected to climb by roughly 2°C over various regions of the plains of Northwest India after two days. Over east India, no substantial change in minimum temperatures is expected over the next three days, followed by a 2-3°C rise.

Minimum temperatures are expected to fall by 2-3°C throughout Madhya Pradesh during the next two days, with no substantial change expected over the next three days.
