The driver of the container lost control of the wheels, overturned the vehicle, and collided with five incoming vehicles in the other lane, according to officials, who claim that the event happened at 9:00 a.m. in the Khopoli section of the district.
“The container, which was en route to Mumbai from Pune, lost control due to high speed and overturned after crossing into the other lane,” police said.
Five vehicles were involved in the accident, according to the official. Two people, including a woman, died there and then, and four others were hurt.
“Injured people have been rushed to the hospital, and we are further looking into the incident,” they added.
