Haryana: Curfew to be relaxed in Nuh on August 14, 15

The Haryana government has issued a directive on Sunday, granting a curfew exemption for August 14 and 15 in the Nuh district of Haryana. The District Magistrate, Dhirendra Khadgata, an IAS officer, has officially announced the curfew relaxation hours as “from 06.00 am to 08.00 pm (14.00 hours only) on 14.08.2023 and 15.08.2023.”

The order emphasizes the responsibility of the Nuh District Superintendent of Police to ensure the effective enforcement of the stated orders. Additionally, the order underscores the importance of allowing individuals to move freely for urgent medical assistance during the curfew hours. It states, “Superintendent of Police Nuh shall ensure the proper implementation of these orders.

In exceptional cases, where the undersigned or concerned SDM is satisfied that it is essential for any person or persons to be allowed to move during curfew hours to seek urgent medical aid, may permit such person(s) for the purpose by issuing him/them curfew passes.”

Notably, preceding this, on Friday, the Haryana Government extended the suspension of mobile internet and SMS services within the Nuh district until August 13. This decision came in light of the district’s prevailing conditions being described as “critical and tense,” as stated in an order from the Haryana Home Secretary. The statement elaborates, “Whereas it has been brought to my notice by Deputy Commissioner Nuh that the law and order situation has been reviewed and the conditions are still critical and tense in the district.”

The Nuh district has been marred by violent incidents stemming from clashes between two groups. The unrest began when a religious procession passing through the district was attacked, resulting in the unfortunate death of two home guards and leaving numerous individuals, including approximately 20 police personnel, injured amid the ensuing frenzy of violence.
