In response to the tragic deaths of three civil services aspirants in the basement of a coaching institute in Delhi’s Old Rajinder Nagar, several UPSC coaching centers have stepped forward to offer financial assistance and free classes. The victims, Shreya Yadav from Ambedkar Nagar in Uttar Pradesh, Tanya Soni from Telangana, and Nevin Dalwin from Ernakulam in Kerala, lost their lives on July 27 when the basement library of Rau’s IAS, operating illegally, flooded after heavy rain. The incident has sparked significant student protests and led to the sealing of many such libraries and the demolition of illegal establishments by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
Vajiram & Ravi, a well-known UPSC coaching center, has announced it will admit students from Rau’s IAS Study Circle free of cost. The institute stated, “As a sign of solidarity with the families of the departed souls, Vajiram & Ravi comes forward to make a financial contribution of Rs. 10 Lakh to each of the three IAS aspirants who lost their lives recently.”
