Delhi Elections 2025: BJP Releases Manifesto; Promises ₹2500 Monthly Aid To Women

Union Minister and BJP National President J.P. Nadda unveiled the first part of the BJP’s manifesto, titled ‘Sankalp Patra,’ for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. During a press conference, Nadda emphasized that all existing public welfare schemes in Delhi would continue if the BJP is elected to power. He stated that the manifesto reflects the party’s commitment to creating a prosperous and developed Delhi.

BJP makes Major Announcements for Women and Senior Citizens

Highlighting key welfare initiatives, Nadda announced several financial aid schemes:

• Mahila Smriddhi Yojana: Women will receive a monthly aid of ₹2,500.
• LPG Subsidy: A subsidy of ₹500 per LPG cylinder will be provided to women from economically weaker sections. Additionally, women will get one free LPG cylinder each on Holi and Diwali.
• Pension for Senior Citizens: Senior citizens aged 60-70 will receive a pension of ₹2,500, while those over 70 will get ₹3,000 per month.

BJP Offers Support for Pregnant Women and New Mothers

The ‘Sankalp Patra’ also lays out financial support for pregnant women and new mothers:

• ₹21,000 and six nutritional kits for pregnant women.
• One-time financial aid of ₹5,000 for the first child and ₹6,000 for the second child under the Pradhan Mantri Matritva Vandana Yojana.
  Nadda noted, “Under the Pradhan Mantri Matritva Vandana Yojana, we have given around 4.73 crore women ₹5,000 for the delivery of the first child and ₹6,000 for the second child.”

BJP’s Ayushman Bharat Scheme and Additional Health Cover

The BJP plans to implement the Ayushman Bharat Scheme in Delhi during its first Cabinet meeting. This health initiative aims to provide:

• Coverage of ₹5 lakh under Ayushman Bharat for Delhi residents.
• An additional ₹5 lakh health cover from the Delhi government, ensuring a total coverage of ₹10 lakh for medical expenses.
  Nadda explained, “The Ayushman Bharat Scheme, implemented in 2017-18, already includes 55 crore people and 36 lakh Anganwadi workers and their families. Anyone over the age of 70 is also covered under the scheme.”

BJP’s Criticism of AAP’s Governance

Nadda criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for failing to deliver on its promises, specifically citing their unfulfilled commitment to provide ₹1,000 monthly aid to women in 2021. “AAP said in 2021 it would give ₹1,000. They didn’t do it in Punjab, and they will not do it in Delhi either,” he alleged.

He further accused the AAP-led government of corruption in public welfare schemes and leaving 51 lakh Delhi residents deprived of essential benefits. Nadda assured voters, “All corruption charges in public welfare schemes will be thoroughly investigated.”
