Delhi hit and drag case: Theft at deceased Anjali’s house

A theft was reported today from the home of Anjali Singh, the lady who died on New Year’s Day after being carried for many kilometres under a car that hit her scooty.

Anjali’s family alleged that robbers forced into the lock on their residence in Karan Vihar and took an LCD TV among other stuff. They also claimed that Anjali’s friend Nidhi was responsible for the theft.

According to Anjali’s sister, her neighbours initially notified them about the robbery about 7.30 a.m. After reaching back home, they saw that the lock had been smashed.

The LCD TV and other household things that were stored under the bed were gone. The television is brand new. It’s been two months since we bought it.

Another member of the family questioned the role of the Delhi Police. “Why was there no police yesterday in front of the house? Police had been there for the previous eight days, but no one was present yesterday. We believe Nidhi is responsible for the theft.”

According to police, an investigation is now ongoing.

Anjali’s maternal uncle had alleged that her friend Nidhi, an eyewitness in the case, planned a plot by stating Ajali was intoxicated on the day of the accident. His statement came in the wake of Nidhi’s assertions to the media that Anjali was inebriated on the day of the event.
