Delhi-NCR: Light Rain Expected Over Next Two Days

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced the possibility of light rain in the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) starting Wednesday evening and continuing over the next two days. This weather change is attributed to winds from the Bay of Bengal.

Weather Update from IMD

Speaking to ANI, IMD scientist Dr. Naresh explained that the incoming winds are expected to bring light rainfall to the region. “Winds from the Bay of Bengal are coming towards Delhi-NCR, which may result in light rain this evening. Light rainfall may also occur tomorrow and the day after,” he stated. He added that the rainfall activity is anticipated to cease after this period.

Rising Humidity and Pleasant Weather Ahead

As humidity levels in Delhi have risen over the last few days, Dr. Naresh expressed optimism about the weather. He noted, “We expect that the weather will be pleasant after the rainfall.” Additionally, he mentioned that neighboring states such as Himachal Pradesh may experience light to moderate rainfall in the coming days, while Uttarakhand could receive isolated heavy rainfall.

Warnings for Other Regions

In conjunction with the Delhi-NCR forecast, the IMD has issued warnings for extremely heavy rainfall in various regions across India. On September 26, areas such as Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim are expected to face significant rainfall.

Heavy Rainfall Observed Elsewhere

Heavy rainfall has already been reported in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam over the past 24 hours, emphasizing the extensive impact of the current weather patterns.

As residents of Delhi-NCR prepare for the light rain, they can expect a brief respite from the heat and humidity, along with potential improvements in weather conditions in the days to follow.
