According to the Delhi Police, a constable at Shahdara Police Station reportedly took his own life by shooting himself at around 2:30 a.m. Identified as Manjeet, he joined the Delhi Police Force in 2022 and was assigned to the reserve battalion stationed at Mansarovar Park police station.
The incident unfolded on Saturday night when Mandeep allegedly fired three shots from a rifle, prompting the gathering of all nearby police officers upon hearing the commotion. Police authorities are currently delving into the case based on the content of the constable’s mobile phone communications. It has been revealed that Manjeet was contending with family difficulties.
Following the incident, Manjeet sustained severe injuries and was admitted to Delhi’s Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, where he underwent surgery on the same day. The investigation is still in progress as authorities strive to uncover more details.
