A school in the Greater Kailash area of Delhi was evacuated and cordoned off following a bomb threat email, but police have reported no suspicious findings. The email, which arrived at the school, claimed that a bomb had been planted on the premises the previous day.
“An email was received at a school in Delhi’s Greater Kailash area, threatening to blow up the school with a bomb. It is written in the email that a bomb was planted in the school yesterday. Nothing has been found in the investigation so far, legal action has been initiated,” Delhi police said in a statement.
The threat turned out to be a false alarm, as the police found no evidence of explosives after conducting a thorough search. “A false bomb call was made in Summerfield, GK, South Delhi. Nothing was found upon checking. The school has been evacuated and checked,” the statement added.
This incident follows a recent wave of bomb threats targeting schools across Delhi-NCR. Earlier this year, approximately 150 schools in the region received similar threatening emails, which were believed to have originated from Budapest, Hungary. The Delhi Police traced the IP address of these emails to Budapest and plans to collaborate with Hungarian authorities for further investigation.
The IP (Internet Protocol) address is a unique identifier assigned to each device connected to the internet, aiding in the tracing of digital communications.
