Delhi school receives bomb threat; later turns out a hoax

Delhi Public School on Mathura Road in Delhi has received a bomb threat through e-mail. Delhi Fire Service says an investigation is underway. Other teams, including Delhi Police, are present on the spot.

According to the information, there was a stir after receiving the call of a bomb in DPS Mathura Road. Information about the presence of bombs has been given through e-mail. The school administration was informed about the bomb in the school through a PCR call at 8:10 am. After which, the police team reached the spot.

Delhi’s South East DCP Rajesh Dev said that as soon as the information was received, the bomb disposal team of the Crime Branch and the local police were deployed. At present, nothing suspicious has been found. The investigation is on.

Earlier, on April 12, a school located in Sadiq Nagar under the Defense Colony police station area of South Delhi was found to have been bombed. There was chaos after the threat. By issuing a message on the school administration’s WhatsApp group, the family members, it was told that they should immediately reach the school and take their children home.

As soon as this message was received, a huge crowd gathered outside the school. The relatives started leaving with the children. They had no idea what the Emergency was all about. Later the family members saw that the bomb squad and sniffer dogs had gone inside the school; then, people understood that something was wrong.

Confirming the matter, DCP South Chandan Chowdhary said that the school had received a mail at 10:49 that there was a bomb plant. Based on the same mail, the school administration called and informed the police. The school administration said they had been told about the bomb plant inside the school through the mail.

After this, the school was evacuated. On the spot, the Bomb Squad team checked the entire school building. However, no bomb has been found. At the same time, the family members who reached the school allege that the children were dropped from the school without any security. It was done by giving just one message.

Delhi Defense Colony SDM Gaurav Saini said the mail came around 9 o’clock. Now the police have done the investigation and given the clearance. Parents have been told that they can take their children. It was a hoax call; it is being investigated.
