Doesn’t country have right to know how much PM has studied? asks Kejriwal

Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, lashed out on Friday at a Gujarat High Court judgement that placed a fee on him in connection with the issue involving Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s school qualifications. The Delhi Chief Minister stated on Twitter that a “illiterate or less educated PM” is very dangerous for the country.

“Doesn’t the country even have the right to know how much their PM has studied? He vehemently opposed showing of his degree in the court. Why? And those who demand to see their degree will be fined? What is this happening? Illiterate or less educated PM is very dangerous for the country,” he said in the tweet.

His statements came only hours after the Gujarat High Court overturned the Chief Information Commission’s (CIC) judgment and decided that the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) was not required to provide Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s degree and post-graduate degree certificates.

The order of the CIC instructing the public information officers (PIOs) of the PMO, Gujarat University, and Delhi University to provide details of PM Modi’s graduation and post-graduate degrees were overturned by a single-judge court led by Justice Biren Vaishnav.

Gujarat University had filed an appeal against the CIC judgment, which was being heard by the bench. The High Court also fined Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Rs 25,000 for requesting information on the Prime Minister’s degree certificate.

Meanwhile, the Delhi CM has been launching continuous attacks on BJP, questioning the “educational qualification” of PM Modi. Talking to the media on March 24, he said, “Never in its history did India have a PM, who is only a 12th pass. He is incapable of running the government and lets his ego guide his actions”.
