On Monday, Dulquer Salmaan, Rashmika Mandanna, and Mrunal Thakur’s love drama ‘Sita Ramam’ won the coveted Dadasaheb Phalke Award for Best Film Jury.

Taking to Instagram, production house Vyajaayanthi Movies announced the news and wrote, “We’re grateful to the Jury of 13th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival for acknowledging our #SitaRamam as the Best Film – Jury of the year 2023. Humbled by this recognition.”

The film, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi and starring Dulquer Salmaan, Rashmika Mandanna, and Mrunal Thakur, was released on August 5, 2022, in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. On September 2, 2022, the Hindi version of the period romantic film was released.

Fans flooded the comment area shortly after the makers of ‘Sita Ramam’ broke the news, leaving red hearts, fire emoticons, and happy comments for the entire team.

Netizens have reacted positively to the period love story flick. Set in the 1960s, this film follows Lieutenant Ram, portrayed by Dulquer, as he sets out to find Sita Mahalakshmi, played by Mrunal, in order to propose to her. When he starts receiving love letters from Sita, his feelings for her grow stronger.

Meanwhile, Dulquer will be featured in the forthcoming action thriller film ‘King of Kotha’. The first glimpse at Dulquer from the film was shown last year. The Pan India film, directed by Abhilash Joshiy, will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
