During a public rally in Madhya Pradesh’s Damoh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that India is garnering global acclaim, whether through the successful Chandrayaan-3 mission or its prestigious G20 presidency. He underlined the significance of these achievements and noted how India’s athletes continue to break records. PM Modi also took the opportunity to criticize the Congress party, stating that despite their promises to eradicate poverty, their intent was questionable. He cautioned voters against the Congress, suggesting that a return to power in Madhya Pradesh could lead to regressing into a less developed state.
The Prime Minister accused the Congress of prioritizing its self-interest over the development of the country and the state. He emphasized that when the BJP came into power in 2014, they disrupted the corrupt machinery of the Congress using the “trishakti” of Aadhaar, bank accounts, and mobile technology.
Drawing an analogy, he alleged that previous Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was like a puppet being “operated” through a “remote control,” and he suggested that a similar situation exists with the current Congress president, Mallikarjun Kharge. Without explicitly naming individuals, he referred to recent comments and shifts in stance, implying that they are controlled by external influences. Following the Damoh rally, Modi is scheduled to hold two more rallies in Madhya Pradesh, focusing on the Bundelkhand and Gwalior-Chambal regions to bolster the BJP’s prospects in the upcoming elections.
Madhya Pradesh will conduct single-phase voting for its 230-member Legislative Assembly on November 17, with the results to be announced on December 3, along with other states like Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, and Telangana. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi is also planning to visit the state, where she will conduct three rallies in Ujjain, Dewas, and Indore.
