Earthquake of 3.8 magnitude strikes Delhi NCR


According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.8 on the Richter scale struck Delhi NCR in the early hours of Sunday.

NCS is the Government of India’s official institution for monitoring seismic activity in the country. According to the center’s measurements, a 3.8 magnitude earthquake struck Haryana’s Jhajjar around 1:19 a.m. on Sunday. The earthquake was 5 kilometres below ground.

“Earthquake Magnitude: 3.8, Occurred on 01-01-2023, 01:19:42 IST, Lat: 28.71 and Long: 76.62, Depth: 5 Km, Location: 12km NNW of Jhajjar, Haryana,” stated National Center for Seismology.

Earthquake vibrations were felt throughout the Delhi NCR on November 12. The magnitude of the November 12 earthquake in Nepal was 5.4 on the Richter scale, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), and it happened at roughly 7:57 p.m. “The depth of the earthquake was 10 kilometres below ground,” NCS stated.
