Recently, the team of ECI (Election Commission of India) led by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, came to Chandigarh to assess the preparedness for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections on Monday.
Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and Dr. SS Sandhu also accompanied Rajiv Kumar in the visit to the poll-bound state.

Meanwhile, Haryana is among the eight states, which is scheduled to hold legislative assembly elections this year.
In these elections, the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) will join forces to contest. Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced it will independently contest all 90 assembly seats.

In the 2019 Haryana Assembly elections, the BJP secured 40 seats, Congress won 31, JJP obtained 10, and INLD captured 1 seat.
The Haryana Assembly Elections 2024 are expected to be held on or before October 2024, as the current Assembly’s term ends on November 3. The official election schedule has yet to be announced.
