On Tuesday, the Enforcement Directorate raided 24 establishments across multiple states. The raids were place in Jharkhand, Bihar, Delhi, and Haryana. According to sources, the central agency stormed the Ranchi home of Virendra Ram, top engineer in the Rural Development Ministry of the Jharkhand government.
A large sum of money was discovered from one of his subordinates in 2019. The matter was later taken over by the ED under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. Raids were also carried out in Jamshedpur, in addition to Ranchi.
