Not even a month of the massive tragedy in Tirupati due to stampede, a fire breaks out today at the laddo distribution counter at the Venkateshwara Temple in Tirupati.
On Wednesday, a tragic stampede occurred at the darshan ticket counter on the temple premises, resulting in six fatalities and numerous injuries. The stampede took place at Bairagi Patteda near MGM School in Tirupati, as hundreds of devotees scrambled for tickets to the Vaikunta Dwara Darshanam at Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple. The event, which marks the start of a 10-day religious celebration from January 10, drew devotees from across the country. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu visited the hospital where the injured were being treated. On Thursday, Naidu announced a judicial inquiry into the incident and stated that three senior officials, including the district Superintendent of Police, would be transferred.
