Further north, the Gurez Valley in Bandipora district woke up to a fresh blanket of snow on Sunday morning, adding to the region’s scenic allure.
In neighboring Himachal Pradesh, snowfall was reported on Monday, leading to disruptions in traffic along the Manali-Leh Highway and Aut-Luhri National Highway. In response to the challenging weather conditions, authorities in Himachal Pradesh took proactive measures, including halting tourist movement in higher altitudes and issuing advisories to visitors.

Earlier forecasts from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted heavy rainfall in isolated areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh from February 18 to 20, with Uttarakhand experiencing similar conditions on February 19 and 20. These predictions underscored the need for residents and travelers to remain vigilant and prepared for the ongoing weather fluctuations across the region.
