Telangana is gearing up for a single-phase election scheduled for November 30. With 119 assembly seats, the state is currently under the governance of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) led by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. The upcoming election promises a three-way battle among the BRS, Congress, and the BJP. The crucial vote count will take place on December 3rd.
The ruling BRS had previously unveiled its first list of 115 candidates on August 21, leaving just four constituencies undisclosed. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, or CM KCR, is set to run for office in two Assembly constituencies: Gajwel and Kamareddy.
The Congress party, on the other hand, has released two candidate lists comprising a total of 100 names. The first list, unveiled on October 15, included 55 candidates, while the second list featured an additional 45 names. Notably, former Indian cricket team captain Mohammad Azharuddin is contesting from the Jubilee Hills seat as part of the Congress party’s second list.
Meanwhile, the BJP has announced its initial list of candidates for the November 30 elections, featuring three Lok Sabha members, including former state unit president Bandi Sanjay Kumar. Additionally, the BJP has chosen to renominate its controversial MLA, T. Raja Singh, for the Goshamahal constituency.
