Just days after the Kanjhawala tragedy shook the nation, police claimed on Wednesday that another girl was allegedly dragged for roughly 200 metres by a car in Devkharpur hamlet in Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh.
According to the police, an out-of-control automobile struck a female student riding a bicycle near Kedevkharpur hamlet in Manzhanpur Kotwali. The event might have happened mere hours after the 20-year-old from Kanjhawala was carried for many kilometres on the night of Saturday and Sunday, January 1st. Following the incident, the girl became trapped in the automobile with the bicycle and was pulled for almost 200 metres. The cops took the injured girl to the district hospital.
The alleged driver has been charged, and the vehicle has been impounded. Renu Devi, of Manzhanpur Kotwali’s Devkharpur village, told police that her daughter Kaushalya Devi was driving to Manzhanpur for her afternoon computer session on January 1 when she was rear-ended near Bijapur village.
Ram Naresh, the automobile driver, collided with Nebeti’s bicycle, and the girl collapsed on the road. During this moment, the vehicle lost control and crashed into a hole on the side of the road. Following the crash, the automobile rider exited the vehicle and fled.
The wounded girl was brought to the hospital with the assistance of the villagers. In the instance of major back injury, Kotwali police have filed a complaint against the accused driver.
