Govt holds discussion on phased withdrawal of Army from Kashmir hinterland

It is proposed that the CRPF will be deployed wherever army personnel will be withdrawn from the valley to meet the challenges of both law and order and anti-terrorist operations.

Army will be withdrawn in three phases and the first phase to have less militancy, i.e. to withdraw the army from affected districts like, Kulgam, Anantnag, interior areas of Kashmir are proposed in the discussion, sources told NewsX.

According to sources, some things have been told about the removal of the army from the hinterland, which is being discussed at a high level.
