Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel granted in-principle approval on Friday for the allocation of ₹144.32 crores for more than seven thousand rainwater harvesting projects across three zones Northwest, Southwest, and West within the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has received applications for rainwater harvesting projects from 7,497 societies: 3,180 in the Northwest zone, 1,617 in the Southwest zone, and 2,500 in the West zone.

On the social media platform X, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel stated, “The government is moving forward in a planned way to collect rainwater and raise the groundwater level.” He further explained, “To carry out rainwater harvesting works in the Northwest, Southwest, and West Zones of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, ₹144.32 crores have been granted in-principle approval.”
