On Sunday, parts of Gurgaon witnessed heavy rainfall. Thus, resulting in waterlogging and traffic disruptions in several parts of the city.
Key routes like the Gurugram-Delhi Expressway and several other subways were heavily affected, disrupting the daily routines of commuters.
Earlier at 8:30 am, Gurugram witnessed 53mm of monsoon. Thus, water got to build up across different sectors and major roads. Some areas recorded more than 80 mm of rainfall. Thus, severely affecting the normal life of common people.

Important areas like IFFCO chowk and Gurugram sector 5 were severely affected by the heavy monsoon. According to visuals, Commuters were seen navigating through flooded streets. The heavy rain also resulted in the closure of subways and underpasses for non-motorized transport (NMT) and pedestrians, forcing residents to remain indoors and alter their weekend plans.

Meanwhile, the regional center of IMD, New Delhi has forecasted moderate to heavy rainfall, along with thunderstorms and lightning, in various parts of Haryana, including Ambala, which also witnessed heavy rains on Sunday.

Issuing press release, IMD said ‘Fairly widespread to widespread light-moderate rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall very likely over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, East Uttar Pradesh during 10th -16th; Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, West Uttar Pradesh on 10th, 11th and during 14th – 16th; Punjab on 10th and 11th; Haryana-Chandigarh during 10th, 11th and 14th August.’
