Gurugram Traffic Police: Rs 10,000 Fine for Blocking Emergency Vehicles – Know the Rules!

The Gurugram Traffic Police have introduced a stringent measure to ensure unobstructed passage for emergency vehicles, such as ambulances and fire trucks. According to reports, individuals obstructing these vehicles could face an instant challan fine of Rs 10,000. This initiative aims to prioritize the swift movement of emergency vehicles and prevent delays that could be life-threatening.

Key Points:

  1. Fine Implementation: Gurugram Traffic Police officers will utilize video evidence to issue immediate online fines of Rs 10,000 to offenders obstructing emergency vehicles.
  2. Legal Basis: The fine is outlined in Section 194E of the Motor Vehicle Act, with the objective of facilitating a clear path for ambulances carrying critically ill patients to hospitals.
  3. Online Challans: The challans will be issued along with video recordings of the incidents, ensuring transparency and accountability in the fine imposition process.
  4. Preventing Delays: The initiative is crucial to address concerns related to delays faced by emergency vehicles due to traffic congestion or reckless driving, particularly during peak hours.
  5. Green Corridors: In addition to the fine, Gurugram traffic police have been working on creating green corridors for ambulances transporting organs for transplant, further enhancing critical patient care.

Gurugram’s traffic congestion, especially during peak office hours, has been a persistent challenge, and this measure is part of ongoing efforts to streamline traffic flow and prioritize emergency services. The introduction of such fines underscores the importance of ensuring timely access for emergency vehicles, contributing to public safety and well-being
