Haryana Rajya Sabha MP Kartikeya Sharma Comes to the Rescue of the State’s District-Level Healthcare System

Haryana Rajya Sabha MP Kartikeya Sharma Comes to the Rescue of the State’s District-Level Healthcare System

In a recent address to the Rajya Sabha, Kartikeya Sharma, BJP MP, emphasized the pressing need to improve the healthcare system at the district level in Haryana. Sharma highlighted that the current district-level healthcare facilities often lack advanced medical equipment required to treat complex diseases.

Many residents suffering from severe health conditions such as fatty liver, kidney ailments, and heart diseases are forced to travel to metropolitan cities for medical care. This not only imposes significant financial and emotional burdens on families but also delays critical medical assistance.

Although government hospitals are staffed with skilled professionals, Sharma noted that these facilities require substantial upgrades to effectively manage a range of medical conditions.

To address this critical issue, Sharma proposed upgrading at least one government hospital in each district to a super-specialty center for integrated medicine. These centers would be equipped with specialized wings for various fields including nephrology, pediatrics, cardiology, orthopedics, cancer care, and general care.

Sharma suggested implementing a public-private partnership model to establish these centers. The central government could provide one-time financial support for their establishment, while state governments would handle ongoing expenses. Additionally, revenue generated from these services would help sustain the centers.

He also emphasized the importance of integrated medicine, which combines traditional medical techniques with modern practices. The proposed centers would offer these integrated medicine services, catering to a broad spectrum of healthcare needs.

Sharma’s proposal aims to enhance healthcare accessibility and quality at the district level, ensuring timely and effective medical care for Haryana’s residents.
