Rahul Gandhi In Haryana: Promises Rs 2,000 Monthly For Women

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, accusing him of “systematically” dismantling the employment framework in India. Speaking at a rally in Assandh, Gandhi expressed confidence that the Congress party would secure a significant victory in the upcoming Haryana assembly elections scheduled for October 5.

The rally saw prominent figures in attendance, including Congress MP Kumari Selja, former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, and state unit chief Udaibhan. Together, they rallied support for the Congress party’s agenda ahead of the elections.

Allegations Against the BJP Government

Gandhi criticized the BJP government for what he described as the “destruction” of Haryana’s economy. He stated, “(PM) Narendra Modi systematically ended the employment system in the country,” emphasizing the detrimental impact on job opportunities.

Personal Insights

Reflecting on his recent visit to the United States, Gandhi shared anecdotes of immigrants from Haryana who left their home state in search of better job prospects, underscoring the local unemployment crisis.

Congress Promises for Haryana

During his address, Gandhi outlined the Congress party’s election promises, which include providing Rs 2,000 per month to women and selling LPG gas cylinders at Rs 500 if the party is elected. He also pledged to fill two lakh vacancies in Haryana and ensure a legal guarantee for minimum support prices for farmers.

Upcoming Election Details

Polling for the 90 assembly seats in Haryana is set for October 5, with the results expected to be announced on October 8.
