Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya asks states to stay alert, prepared

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has directed the states to be vigilant, increase testing and genome sequencing, and keep ready stock of hospitals and medicines amid rapidly increasing cases of CoronaCorona. In a meeting with the health ministers of the states, it was decided to review the preparations for CoronaCorona in all the districts on April 8 and 9 and to conduct mock drills in Corona hospitals on April 10 and 11.

Union Minister Mandaviya urged the health ministers of the states to participate in the mock drill. Mansukh Mandaviya said there had been a rapid increase in the cases of CoronaCorona in the last three weeks. Two weeks ago, till March 17, an average of 571 corona infected were coming days in a week, while till April 7, an average of 4188 infected were coming in a week.

Similarly, during this period, the positivity rate has increased from less than one per cent to an average of 3.02 per cent. In Kerala, Maharashtra and Delhi, ten or more districts have a positivity rate above 10 per cent, while in Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Himachal Pradesh, more than five districts have a positivity rate above 5 per cent. The SBB.1.16 variant is said to be responsible for the fresh infection of the Corona.

Mansukh Mandaviya said that 21.6 per cent of the total corona cases coming in February were of this variant. Still, now the percentage of this variant has reached 35.8 per cent in total cases. Still, it is a matter of relief that despite the increasing infection in the Corona hospitals, There is no increase in the number of admitted patients. The reason for this is believed to be the successful vaccination campaign in India.

According to him, 90 per cent of the eligible population in the country has been given both doses of corona vaccine, but the number of people taking the vigilance dose is very less. He said that the need to increase it. Mansukh Mandaviya told the states that despite the increasing cases of CoronaCorona and the new variant, the old formula of testing, tracking, treatment, vaccination and proper corona behaviour is still the best way to prevent it.

He asked the states to ensure corona tests for all cold patients and take necessary steps to prevent the spread of infection by identifying hot spots of corona infection. The meeting was also attended by senior officials of the Union Health Ministry as well as the state’s principal secretaries and additional secretaries of the health departments.
