A seven-year-old boy tragically drowned in a pond that formed due to heavy rains at a DDA park in Delhi’s Rohini, according to police reports. The incident occurred on Friday evening at 6:30 PM in Sector-20, Rohini, within the Aman Vihar police jurisdiction.
Upon receiving the report, police swiftly arrived at the scene and transported the child to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the drowning occurred in a pond, or jheel, created by the accumulation of rainwater in the park. The authorities have sent the boy’s body for a post-mortem examination, and legal proceedings are underway to address the matter.
This incident follows another recent tragedy on July 27, when three civil UPSC aspirants lost their lives after a basement library at Rau’s IAS Circle in Old Rajinder Nagar was inundated due to severe rainfall.
These events highlight the growing concerns about safety and infrastructure in areas prone to heavy rains and flooding. Authorities are urged to review and improve flood management and safety measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
